By the way...

Don't feel the need to sign up and follow the blog if you don't feel like giving Google every tiny bit of information about yourself. Google is an evil conglomerate that will probably misuse your information for nefarious purposes, after all, and I don't want to be an accomplice.

Just come back a lot and leave comments, too. You don't need to join the Google Army to do that.

(Probably not a good idea to open a new blog by attacking Google...)

  2. Too late. Google knows everything about all of us.

  3. As long as this isn't going to be an extension of the Pittsburgh sports teams, I'm in.

  4. I just returned from an utterly underwhelming movie about a young woman who blogs about her experiences following Julia Child recipes.

  5. So, maybe we'll finally get to see pictures from your trip to Spain? I don't think you actually went to Spain. I think you spent a lost weekend at the Best Western in Riverhead. Yup.

  6. Having a regular blog is tough. You feel funny going on vacation because you know readership goes to near zero during that time. And they may never come back once they leave your site. I much prefer the message board thing -- if I go away, no big deal, no one knows.

I just came from a conference for Associated College Press and a workshop on blogging. The speaker was great, but he had VERY few examples of bloggers making money off of blogging.

Not to be a naysayer. I think, at their best, a blog could help you flesh out story ideas and get instant reactions to such ideas so you know which stories to pursue. It could help you prioritize, so you do not waste time on bad leads.

PLUS, you can post photos of your trip to Spain...
